Madoobe is not really allied to Ethiopia directly, they released him(ICU war) and he was obliged to show some goodwill but he has no use for Ethiopians whose sphere of influence has been limited to border areas of Somalia.

Ina Iley is irrelevant in Jubbaland...Shakuul is a rich wadaad business man with obvious connections to the Itixaad that surrendered to Ethiopia, he has many character flaws which i don't wish to divulge here but the man is not fit for the top-job.

Madoobe was counting on Ethiopia up to the death of Meles. It's not clear whether he feels obliged to the Ethiopians for whatever they whispered into his ear. Whatever he is, he was ready to dump the entire project until he found out his best interest was to stay with tolka because after all, tribal fighters are not an army.

We have to remember Ethiopia completely opposes this project ( Perhaps Ilay out of kinship hints his support), Jubbaland will become what it fears. Axmed Madoobe went back to Hassan Turki after his release, whatever the Ethiopians released him for he did not commit but as the situation changed with Al-shabaab he backtracked. Kenya quickly became his ally, training his men and providing equipment since then he has been allied to Nairobi who in-turn reconciled him with Gaandi. Whatever political association he was to have with Ethiopia did not really materialize. Doing Ethiopia's bidding in Jubbaland will turn into a real messy situation with tolka.

Everyone, from the pro ONLF camp, to the pro "peace" camp are supporting Jubaland. Also, Ethiopia has general Gabre in the IGAD, in addition to others to foresee the make up of this Jubaland.
