I have NOT seen a single female Somali with AIDS. --Maybe I need to work in AIDS testing hospitals. Walaahi these statics mean nothing to me. I need a face on it. Overall, I think Somali women with aids is very little, but for men its a different story. I know at least 5 Somali men with Aids in Minnesota, and some of them don't know their status. They literally degenerate and die slowly before my eyes. I write in my diary every symptom they go through, it is all cataloged under date, time and method of observation.eg by phone, by face to face, by word of a gossip acquaintance. etc etc

If you read, there was only, 315 new cases of HIV (HIV & AIDS at first diagnosis) in 2012 in MN. A rate of 5.9 people per 100,000, that is .000059% of a population of 100,000. Then it says 236 HIV(non-aides), 202 cases of AIDS (Just AIDS) at first daignosis.

From 1982-2012 there have only been 10,112 cases of HIV (HIV & AIDS at first diagnosis), 7,780 cases of HIV(non-aides at first diagnosis), and 6,028 AIDS (just AIDS at first diagnosis). This is for the whole state of Minnesota.

In 2012, there has only been 41 new cases of HIV infection for African-Born Americans.
If we go by Waryaa's statement that there is only 70k Africans, that is only .0005% of the population that got HIV in 2012.

FCUKING GREAT JOB on your abreviations and synopsis of the study. Great job yaaqee! That means the study is staggering. It shows that the rate of first time HIV diagnosis and that of first time AIDS diagnosis--is almost virtually the same. Which is staggering if u know this disease very well. It takes a couple of years (less than 3) to be full blown AIDS. But mostly, people get diagnosed early in their HIV sero-conversion period. When one is infected with HIV they become violently ill, even hospitalized. It is in this moment when patients get diagnosed if they are lucky. Others have either a strong constitution, a strong natural immunes system--that enables them to go through this initial drastic sickness of HIV early days. If u get through that u go on with your life, your immune system slowly dying, u become proned to opportunistic diseases, until, one sweet day, u get hospitalized for pneumonia, and then is when u get diagnosed of AIDS and u r dead.


Basically-- the static math of first time hiv diagnosis and that of Aids first diagnosis is shocking. It means a lot of people could go on without being diagnosed, showing they have better health constitution or good immune system that made them evade the detection of early HIV infection hospitalization!

Waryaa, no matter how you present the facts, there is only 22 African new cases of HIV in a state that has 5.6 million people. I don't care if 100% of the one were African women, that is still such an insignificant number that you can't conclude anything.
