Well I would argue that a state that is compelling hijab as required wear is imposing state sponsored religion. Conceptually I am strongly against that regardless of the religion and a number of Islamic Scholars agree with me on this point.
Why You against a religion & state law being one...Islam is away of life from every espect...It'd be amazing if we had a state run by pure islamic law
Whats the difference if the state system is capitalist, Socialist or Communist or Islamic? so far islamis state hasn't failed and divorcing state & religion hasn't got anywhere either...but killed the spirit of religion and made ppl become fighten of it...de-moralised

I understand the concept. But what I am saying is that which of those edicts one chooses to follow and which not is an individual decision. Here where I work, for example, we have a Turkish secretary who chooses not to cover her hair. That is her decision to make.

So some Muslim woman run around in western attire, some feel more comfortable in much more conservative attire. At the end of the day, each person must decide for themselves what kind of attire they are comfortable with.
Listen tell me one society or country in time who didn’t set guide lines for what a woman should wear,
They all did from the beginning of time, why do ppl go on about Islam and its dress code, all other religions and cultures do it, just cuz it isn’t as visible.
Take the West for example, there is this invisible notion that says wear as lil as possible under the concept ‘attraction’.
All Islam offers a woman is modesty, and its obligation so the females don’t get **** into these society notions or freedoms fashions etc whatever that’s going on at the time…
I agree, Looks fine and valid point! It's two way concept of manner and modesty in public life and it's contrary of seeking physical attarction from the public specially sexiual objects in association with the Devel!

MM,

If freedom of dressing is ok in the west, why not freedom for all???

If a women is free to walk around almost naked or semi naked with all her body parts showing. Then why would not a women who chose to cover most of her body have the same freedom as the naked one??? Rolling Eyes

Guys

what you have to understand is that these kaafirs like mad mac really get frustrated when they see muslim woman covering their body and this all boils down to the fact that the likes of Mad mac see woman as an sex tool and nothing else really i guess its something deeply ingrained in their culture for so long that when they see a woman who isnt slave to her sexuallity appeal who isnt devined by her clevage or how toned her legs are or how firm her backside.

This is really shock to their system and they hate it, then comes the old and tired accusation of "these woman are forced to wear these degrading clothes"

the truth is what is degrading is teaching your daughter from the age of twelve that to really be some one that is worth anything you must somehow satisfy the triple bellied fat pervert that sits in the bar looking at girls.

what is degrading is programing your woman to spend billions of dollers cutting their flesh to look like the frankenstiens that are on every cover, why?? well because one day that might be you on that cover and who knows that same fat pervert might have your pic under his bed.

the likes of Mad Mac will come running with the same old excuse of "but its their choice" which is rubbish because its what soceity has dictated for them and hammered home.

If Islam doesn't consider woman as 'sex tools or objects', why cover them up? There is a contradiction in saying they should cover up from the starring eyes of men and saying at the same time they are not sexual objects.

And if it is really to cover them from men's eyes, why not regulate muslim men's behaviour. Why go after the women but leave the muslim men to do as they please. Where are the verses that instruct muslim men to look away at the sight of not properly dressed muslim woman?

Why cover them? Cuz females are too precious to be seen by everyman who isn't a muhram to her. Why show all Ur goodies to anyone & everyone?? You, as a man, when you see a woman who is covered up u might wonder what's under that, unlike another one u might see in the beach with her butt cheeks hanging, her left nipple sticking out. There is no curiosity after seeing everything out there..

You might not believe this, but Muslim women have a WHOLE lot of rights in Islam only real Muslims would know and understand. Females are like a valuable diamonds, high apples at the top of a tree, only who ever can reach very high would be able to have it. (That being her husband)

P.s horta didn't we agree, you and I a while ago about such discussions? maxa dhacaay? misa u are back to ur old ways??

If the fact that Allah (swt) requires it doesn't satisfy you then you have deeper issues than just wearing Hijab..May your non-hijabified hair catch fire...

DanGirl, nice topic, thanks for that walalo. Ilaahay kheyr ha ku siiyo.

Atleast I'll stay safe from nasty, horny men with loose hands by wearing my hijaab and covering myself. If a woman is walking around half naked then she's simply asking to be raped or harrassed! Rolling Eyes Why would I even degrade myself by showing all my body parts? And it doesn't matter whether these Western folks agree or not agree, what counts is what Allah (swt) thinks of you. I'd rather please Him than some doofaar eating gaal Smile .
