There are para-normals and phenomenons that science failed to substantiate, so quit your fukked up excuse for intellect and save us some responses[/quote]

there is no such thing as 'para-normals' or 'ghosts'. Just cause science can't verify them one way or another doesn't mean they exist or there is much validity to believing thier existance.

Science can't also tell us for certain whether Big Foot or Loch ness monster exist...do we have any reason to believe they exist? No.

No evidence = irrelevant.

I promise i'm not in a paranoid state but i believe this thread was started to mock me...

anyhoo.....One of the things that saddens me when the issues of mental illness in somali/muslim people is brought up, the first thing mentioned is Jinni and stress..A depressed person is told to "just get over it" while some schizophrenics are beaten the shit out of because of alleged possesion by the devil. Rolling Eyes

It's really sad that the first modern Mental health facilities in the world were built in places like Baghdad and Damascus. Muslims with mental disorders were being cared for in these hospitals while europeans were burning schizophrenics at stake for being the devil. It's actually hilarious, if you think about it. While there is still much to be done in the area of mental illness in the west, the muslims are waaaaaaaaay behind.

I think educating mentally ill people and their families is crucial to eliminating stigmas and confusion that surrounds this issue. And teaching idiots who think a depressed persons just need attention how to shut their fuccing mouths wouldn't hurt either.
