They might have peace. But Somaliland is no more developed than any other place in Somalia. For 22 years, all they have done is sit on their hands and beg the British crown for recognition for being former slaves.
They could have done so much more if they had played their cards right.

Even with the questionable security situation in Xamar. The Somali Diaspora is returning in record numbers and many are willingly to invest. Xamar has experienced more economic and infrastructure development in the past 2 years than Somaliland has in the past 22 years. This alone speaks volumes.
Their chosen path of isolation has failed them greatly and their reliance on Ethiopia has given them nothing in real return. Berbera is now a desolated port city due Ethiopian interference.
If they were smart and cunning, they could have used Somalia’s status as a sovereign nation to attract more development AID, foreign investment, economic assistance and skill/knowledge transfer from other nations. But no, they thought a poverty stricken nation such as Ethiopia would lead them to the oasis of prosperity. Instead the Ethiopians have hoodwinked them to the sea of stagnation.
Yes, the Ugandans are bad; however, they haven’t stopped the slow and steady rebuild of the Somali republic and cannot do much to stop it. However, Ethiopia your ally has done everything in its power to keep the status quo.

What are you on about? Hargeisa was built by Somalilanders with only Allahs help. Lack of recognition has slowed progress but nevertheless it is miles ahead of ugandishu in terms of maturity and development. Meanwhile xamar recieves billions of dollars in Aid. Dont worry about Hargeisa, worry about your women who are running in droves into the beds of bantus.

There isn’t a single nation in the world that is pro-Somaliland independence. Not even Ethiopia or even Kenya. It sets a dangerous precedent. The African Union is also against it.
The World will not allow 3 separate Somali run states, its pure madness. You also have Somalis in Ethiopia that want self-determination. So potentially there could be 4 Somali states. The World will not allow this to occur or happen.
Also Djibouti was created to control access to the red sea and monitor activities. If Somaliland is granted independence; Djibouti will lose its strategic influence. It’s not going to happen. Just deal with this fact. It has been 22 years and you are not any closer today than 1991 May 18th.
Nations that have become independent after this date, Eritrea, East Timor, Kosovo and South Sudan. No one cares about Somaliland.
Somaliland should model itself on autonomous states such as Catalonia, Scotland and Iraqi Kurdistan. Somaliland would benefit greatly from a federal decentralized Somalia

Ahead of Mogadishu in maturity? What does that entail?
Sorry, to be the bearer of bad news. But Mogadishu is ahead of Hargesia in development. Some of the new projects and construction being commenced in the city ahead of anything EVER built in Somalia. That said, Hargesia isn’t more developed than Boasso or even Garowe for example. The difference only exists in your bias eyes

Then why your youth are flocking from "developed SL" to "undeveloped Mogadishu" to work for reer Muqdisho ?
Sxb just accept it. Your govt has failed your people big time. No amount of lies will hide the truth. SL is a shithole !
