That's good to hear. Tell them not to cut their ties with their respective communities, friends, and family members. And take it easy with everything from dress code to memorizing what is halaal and haraam. Old habits die hard.AbdiWahab252 wrote:This one is financially secure, and an overall well balanced individual. They have been struggling with issues of faith for quite sometime and so asked me more about Islam. I gave that individual a run down and explained that it was a way of life. The individual bought some books and has been studying for quite some time.
My last interaction with a convert was at the Halal store when I bumped into a woman I knew from university who was shopping there. She used to be a Catholic not religious but always struggled with faith especially those tenants regarding sin. She was opposed to the concepts of the trinity, religious hierarchy and hypocrisy of the Church. She always was amazed at how Muslims were able to deal with major dramatic events in their life so well.
Oh, say a dua that this all pans through. I am now need to introduce another person to Islam by providing literature and taking her to Islam Q&A at the Mosque which is presided by a convert.
So much much Ajar does one get for missionary activities ?
In my opinion, Allah is the best witness. Islam is submission to Allah. As the Qur'an states, all are equal except in faith/piety and God alone knows best who is the most faithful/pious. So we cannot judge who can or cannot be Muslim. I think the Shahadah is key, the rest is up to the perosn. If a potential convert were asking for advice, I would tell them that a conscious effort to strive to be near to God and to remember him and pray and read the Qur'an is important. But that they should never stop seeking God's forgiveness and trying if they sin or miss a prayer or forget Allah's remembrance.AbdiWahab252 wrote:Folks,
Are there any additional requirements beside the person reciting the Shahada ? Does she have to get a certificate ? Or is it enough for one person to be a witness ? No need for a name change ?
Jazakallah,
