Why not Abgaal? Somali tribes are nomadic and move around, territories change a lot over time. Remember Berbera itself was an Ogaden town.

Timocase -Most of Somalis are originally from the North, so it makes perfect sense .
Gabre- Ogaden never settled Berbera may be around it, the Area of Lafaruug( where the first Iidoor vs Jeberti battle took place) but not the city itself the city
has always being a commercial hub very diverse it was never dominated by a single clan, thats until jesus moses came . But I heard Ogaden settled Hargeisa .

I dont agree woth the comment u wrote for timocase. only a small percentage migrated south, others came from the west (oromos and so on) and east ( Persians, Arabs, indians) and tanzaniansa and zanzibarians migrateing up north from the south. This is what makes the population of somalia todayhargaysaay wrote:Timocase -Most of Somalis are originally from the North, so it makes perfect sense .

May be you are right but what I intended to say was most of the Ancestors of what today constitutes a Somali lived in North. Nah. There probably wasn't a Shiekh Abgaal or Jaberti or Isaaq. But it's possible Abgaal clan used to live somewhere in that area, as crazy as it may seem now.Advo wrote:

And Hargeysaay is right, Berbera was a very diverse city mainly because it was a commercial hub but also the capital of British Somaliland. My maternal great Grandmother was born and raised in Berbera and she's Marexaan.
