Geo I would think that is highly exaggerated. I think it has a lot to do with good training, good diet that helps with that high twitch muscle fiber good for sprinting. You have to remember slavery has not been there for hundreds of years.

Dude look it, they reckon Caribbean plantation owners actually practiced selective breeding for stronger workers. Maybe not 400 years, at least a few centuries though. I mean, they treated their slaves worse than they did cattle, or at least in a similar fashion. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Training definitely helps. I also read somewhere that East African runners do well because of training at higher mountainous altitudes with reduced air density in their native lands, that kinda makes sense. Although that theory won't apply to Somalis who I think it's safe to say are naturally good long distance runners.

Geo I reckon they did but I doubt they didnt let others have kids. They probably sold the more "bred" for money. The only way I can ser you hypothesis working is if they casterated the "weaker" males and haf the others "breed" with the females, effectively cutting of undesirables from the gene pool. But as soon as slavery ended then they could mix with everyone.

I am rooting for MO Farah but come on this is obvious, Bolt is gonna win this easily remember he runs 200 metres with top speed
i think if he gives his best in the first 200 metres he will be far far ahead of Mo Farah then he can spend the rest walking and still pull off a win .

Exactly, Mo Farah will have to race him at least 1000m so that bolt can eventually get tired and lose momentum. Anything below, bolt will sprint for 300m and jog the rest and still win.

Smh at these people hating on Mo farah, anything over 300 meters and my money is on Mo. This guy could probably go full out sprint for over 400 meters, while usain bolt starts to slow down after 50 meters to 100 meters. And Usain is not so crazy to run at full speed right away. Mo for the win

600m is just one lap and a bit, are you saying Usain Bolt can't run at full speed for one lap?
Bolt will take this easily unless Mo Farah is a good sprinter.

Bro, Mo can run 3000 m in 7mins 40 seconds, thats a 200 meters short of two miles. Me jogging at quick pace can barely run that time in a mile. How fast do you think Mo can run 600 meters? I bet he can sprint that whole time, and Usain can run fast but he just can't sprint in full speed. My money is on Mo.

 SMH Somalis will always hate on their own.

You guys have no idea about anything running related if you think Bolt would have a chance in anything above 500 metres. Any longer distance is an entirely different ball game as far as pace, breathing, and running style goes. There's a much bigger adjustment from 200 and 100 m to 600 than there is from 1500 down to 600. Every single track expert/coach has Farah winning at that distance.

There's not much to like about someone who doesn't mind being called Mo instead of the best Muslim name Muhammad.
