If he has $25 million how come we never heard of him or his business, even if he is a drug dealer, when someone goes over the million mark you bound to heard about him or his business some how.

the only Somali millionairs I know are; Iman, Keynaan, Mo farah, Dahabshiil owner etc.

I would respect anyone who works hard, whether they ended up rich or remained poor but educated or neither. I think he should go back to school if he wants. There are older students in uni. Plus, since he's a millionaire, he could certainly afford it.

Interesting replies. I particularly liked how anarchist put it, there is no respect in being broke.

To answer your questions people, the dude is the CEO of a successful company. He made his money in the
telecommunication sector.

He believes he's too old for that now, will rather do his business.

gurey25 He did say people respect him cause his wealthy, but not the kind of respect given to a learned graduate. It is easy for him to
say that when there are countless jobless graduates living in gutters, while his living the life.

Tell him life is too short, with degree or with money, you will end up grave. So love the people who treat you right and treat everybody rightly.

Dude there's loads of Somali millionaires. I know/know of at least 6-7 and they aren't household names. Maybe some them don't like the spotlight :|

If you have the wit to make money for yourself, that should guarantee respect for you because you managed to achieve what the majority of people did not.

You're never too old to learn, that's what keeps you living. Besides (easy for a non millionaire to say) but 25 million is not 25 billion he's got room for improvement

You respect a person for their principles, mannerisms, their accomplishments, their opinions/reasoning, life experiences, talent, integrity, etc. I think respecting someone for their wealth or academic credentials is arbitruary. Why should a piece of paper, be it money or a degree, determine whether one is worthy of your respect? If one person read 100 sociological books and articles for leisure and another read the same amount during the course of their sociology degree, why should I consider latter "an educated individual" and the former not? The former could have a better understanding of the theories yet wouldn't have the same social status as a college/uni graduate. Similarily, if two people are passionate about their professions, does it matter if one makes more than the other? If one had a business idea and ran with it while the other continued doing what they loved, is the latter less ambitious? Do they deserve less recognition? I wouldn't respect Sara Blakely any less as a housewife. I wouldn't respect Jobbs or Gates anymore as degree holders.

$3 million is nothing.. I'm sure there's plenty of Somalis worth that much.. It's all tied up in property, land, dahab etc..
