I picked up a bottle outside on the ground once when I was about 9. It spilt on my leg. I thought I was going to get drunk and end up in hell. I was in the bathtub scrubbing my leg for about an hour, crying hysterically.

Was just about to post a similar story. When I was 7, I picked up what I thought was an empty bottle of champagne so I could break it (yes that seemed like a good idea ). Turns out it wasn't empty, and I spilled the contents all over my arm while I threw it. Still shattered it, but it didn't bring nearly as much satisfaction. It smelled horrible, and strong. And come to think of it, I was in a van full of people on my way to school and nobody noticed anything...weird. Guess Somalis aren't familiar with the smell of alcohol . I thought my parents definitely knew though, so before I went to class I started dipping my arm into random puddles to wash off the scent (luckily it was a rainy day). Didn't give a shit that they were dirty as hell (well I did, I had a long hard think about the pros and cons and I thought fuck it, the ass whooping I'm gonna get if my parents find out is worse than a dirty jacket sleeve), and just kept dipping that motherfucker. As soon as I came home I threw my jacket in the washing room and that was that, my parents didn't bring it up. Didn't tell em the story until years later.

I used to avoid alcohol like the plague when I was young. The worse that happened was when I sat on a seat that someone split some beer on. I was stinking like yeast. My mum made me undress near the door when I came in, I was made to shower immediately. Till this day, I place my hand over any surface I am about to sit on.
