Faisal Omar, 35, spent 15 years in England as a taxi driver, but returned to Mogadishu in July and spent $20,000 on his wedding on August 5th.

Reads like a satire. This article is taking the mick. Good luck to the brother if real though
"The marriages of the men from abroad have greatly affected us because when women hear that another woman has been married with $20,000, every woman will tell you she wants a diaspora man," he told Sabahi. "We have been forced to tell women that we are from the diaspora even though we have never left the country."

...Dudes in Xamar are xariifiin. They get it how they live. I have witnessed this first hand. They have no qualms about selling gabdho pipe dreams.
Somali bachelors from abroad are regarded as good potential partners because of their seriousness in seeking a wife and their ability to provide, she said. Local bachelors' approach to marriage, on the other hand, lacks substance.
"I mean, every bachelor from Mogadishu wants to win a woman over only by telling stories and jokes," she said.
On the other hand because the girls think like this they are liable to be taken for a ride by losers from the west feigning wealth and success. I've heard of a few stories whereby fellas with xaas iyo caruur back in qurbaha marry local gabdho...bashaal for a few months then go back home. Very sad wallahi

You can get an obedient girl at your local mosque and all you can give her in dowry is an apple or a notebook

UlteriorMotive .. that is a f-king depressing man . Guys are feeling let down in bed , "Modern civilized Xaliimos" are not doing it right .
They want some fresh considerably innocent flesh to pound . Horniness will always cloud your judgment . sad isnt it .

Desmond,
Not if you are a Salafi bandit. THese brothers get bargains and pay little out of pocket. One bastard cousin of mine married a 19 yr old former dugsi student of his after he whispered some halal game in her ear all the while lowering his gaze.
Akhii, I am giving up on Sufism, need to get on that Salaf Game.

You won't get an Oscar with that worthless acting. Try again.

Abdiwahab,
chances of you pulling it off are quite slim. I have some SuperSalafi relatives and even they came to the conclusion that the apple & olive offers are specifically for ibn Weebey and Abu De'shawn.

So romantic man , you got me all worked up emotionally . that part about the whole wedding in the basement gotta go though .
AW- that cousin of yours was probably a veteran of the womanizing game . Halal talks only , wont seal the best deal , you gotta couple it with other stuff
Money being first , Birds these days respect that shit more than anything .

Not if you got that Salaf game. Keeping whispering favorable hadiths into her ear and reminding her of the virtues of marriage by highlighting all the favorable characteristics of a husband which conveniently match your qualities.
He only dropped $8,000.

Desmond,
Alas, I am upset Akhii. Anyways, I have been keeping a keen eye out for the Revert women at the masjid and during those "Intro to Islam" open houses. Them Arabs move quick when a white chick is spotted. Not as much for madow.
Yet, the Madows are cleaning up shop. Just the other day, one convinced this Xalimo to be his 2nd wife and not to have an aroos. She will be living in the same neighbhorhood as wife #1. This is the same Xalimo who gave my buddy a hard time because he didn't want to throw her a big wedding as he was struggling at the time helping raise money for his fam back home. Today that Farax is doing much better and is living well.
