I want to tear up all those skyscrapers and replace it with something more in keeping with the historic character of the area. If it was really because of shirk and bidca these same people wouldn't be preserving ancient idols of Roman gods and temples.

I met a British-Pakistani team of archaeologists. They were digging up some old Ottoman fort because the Saudis want to tear it down. They said everything they find will end up in museums in London. Shame wallahi. Funnily enough, they are trying to protect the old part of Jeddah. It has old, nice, tiny houses with great architecture and now they are trying to protect it because many tourists come to see them.
