If it is the latter, the job market is good.
The MPP is a mix of all that. Political, economic, quantitative and qualitative analysis..

In this area the market is good since I'm in the DC area and I'm going to Maryland which is connected to many organizations in the public and private sectors.

Obviously nothing is guaranteed. But I feel better about doing this program rather than going for a law degree which is more expensive and more over saturated market.

Fah, good luck. Make sure you take some courses in statistics; and then if I were you, I will apply for an exchange programme to Sussex university (development studies Mecca); http://www.ids.ac.uk/

I met a guy a couple of guys who have done their MPA/MPP. What I found ironic was that all of them work in the private sector, like one guy who works as a consultant for Deloitte.

You are not going to fail, unless you are the type of person who likes to hang with his/her friends every evening and weekends, because from experience I noticed that people who do that usually fail/drop out, as schooling specially graduate school require lots of time to writing, researching and reading.

All the people that I know who have graduate degrees including PhDs had full time jobs while they were in school and some even had family (wife/husband and children) to attend to.

SN: Graduate school is actually more fun as the professors treat you as professional/grown up and there is more exchanging of ideas and debates....
