Its about political representation. When you have 33 seats for Waqooyi and 120 seats for Koonfur it clearly shows the injustice. The idea was also to create a political system that would allow Somaliland to either have the PM position or the Presidential post but that didn't happen. The ''shocking statement'' is not that shocking at all, given the fact Somaliland was a separate county and when we united we were suppose to unite on an equal basis.

Why Dir has not been elected?

1) There has only been 4 real elections in Somalia Where somalis could elect a president on their own will. Adden Cadde, C/rashiid Cali Sharmarke, C/qaasim and Gurguurte.
2) The first 2 elections was not about qabil but political party ( aaden cadde and abdirashid). So somalis were choosing the candidate of their choice. ( Habargidir voted overwhelmly for Abdirashiid ali sharmaarke because he was from central somalia and they could ralate to him more than Aadan cadde from Shabeellaha hoose).
3) The other 2 elections ( Abdiqasim and gurguurte) was about stablizing the capital. Abdiqasim was chosen to challenge USC since habargidir were the muscle power at that time. Gurguurte was to bring down Sheikh shariif and his corrupt goons and replace them with more neutral muqdishoan to stablize the capital.
4)All this time, There was no political or strategic interest to choose Dir. Dir and Now could not bring the necessary Change that was needed. Marka dalka dhan fiicnaado, oo la stablize gareeyo, anyone would have affair shot.
