They should take a personality test instead. You can't fake that. It is what is used by police when they are recruiting to weed out cops with personality/behavioral problems. Also, take a medical test, too many tough diseases floating around. And if you're paranoid, request his/her criminal record. If one is wealthy, a credit history would be something to look at too.

ElfRuler0, let's pretend you're my future wifey. I would suggest that we both go to the health clinic to be checked out for any abnormalities in our health. If I have some bad genes or that 3-alphabet disease, then I would have done you a huge favor by not ruining your life. Why would you object to that? If you're the one with the bad news, then I would just tell you "Life's a bitc.h then you become one". Naa, I wouldn't say that. I would try to help you out and keep it a secret.

It's one thing to get checked for abnormalities -genetics and another to ask a Somali woman to get tested for HIV/STDs without getting the "Do I look like a ho?" question.

Let's just say my future son-in-law wanted to do this. I would welcome and praise him for showing such courage. It can only mean he is a sincere good guy.

I happen to know the guy in this situation, he did it for his own contentment more so than to impress her folks. he is Muslim but has western ideals of relating to a woman pre-marraige. the girl comes from a traditional background and refused to live him sans marraige so he felt this proposition would serve a happy medium.
