Not being a burden to those close to u. Being able to start a project with a goal and having the sanity and wisdom to successfully abandon a sinking ship.

It's nice to see your serious side, walaal. While I haven't noticed that about Somalis but I think some people are delighted to hear about others' misfortunes. I don't understand those people.

-Earning honest pay for honest work.

-Raising socially, politically aware children.
-Fulfilling my responsibilities as a wife and mother the best I can.

-Being a good, honest person.

Very simple.

I agree, abayo. Especially with being open to connect with others. I've learned the hard way that's better than having a certain coldness or distance with all others.

That's exactly it, I think. Even if someone might seem "successful" to others, it means nothing if you don't have that sense of inner peace.

CushiticReflections, i learned lesson awhile ago, never judge the person's success for their wealth, education, class, power etc. my dad once told me , you never know what Allah took from them instead. also never pitty some one or look down on them, cause you never know what Allah give them instead. with little we think of them, maybe they got inner peace and satisfaction that we may never know.
