Same. Although, I have talked to them a couple of times over the phone. It was rather awkward each time, I must say. :sadcam:
But inshallah, if I go back home this summer, I'm planning to meet them for the first time.

So true, we really don't, their business with the man is between them but the children are treated the same.

The only way is to bring them up together. If you can't do that, then don't marry. Even with that, there can be some problems between the siblings. The ones who are the most closest are the ones who come from the same mother. On the other hand we have here in this thread...people saying they have never met their siblings much like some of my relatives who if a sibling walked past them today wouldn't know them from Adam. That is just so wrong. :|

I once mediated between two half siblings that were trying to fight each other. I think half siblings are more prone to infighting if they live
together , for me I have no half siblings. We're a big family and all share the same mother and father. Also when it comes to wealth
inheritance it is a lot easier to distribute between us then say if there was another woman with other children married to my father,
which could have had a potential of dispute.

 to this point?

If the family is rich it will cause a big problem when the father is no more

However that xasad is very common in the arabs and I have seen a somali family who become victim of this culture.

There was this somali man who lived in saudia arabia since the 70s so he had tabciya, he was killed in a car crash. His youg wife from somalia has contacted with the police and told them the old familys secrets like sellling visas by pretending every one is related to them. Both the families were deported and had lost their wealthy!!

If the old family let the young family to have some of their money this was not going to happen.

Same for me. Our mum thought us to call them hoyo instead of habayar. I hate it though so in their absent I call them habayaris.

:o OF course u have to meet your half siblings. You miss the opportunity to observe them, their mannerism, their looks, especially their facial features. I have half brothers and sisters, and they do have a 'tinge' of my dad good looks. But we hit the jack pot. Our mom, plus dad, made us walking super models. We are called the twin other families! :dj:
