Somalis are not Arabs. Somalis are pure Africans with Ancient Egyptian background, it is well known. The Arab myth was started in the late 1800s by the Albanian-born Egypt ruler - Ismail Pasha aka Ismail the Magnificent.

I'm Somali. My fathers were Somali camel-herding warriors and my fathers before them were coastal merchants. I don't know wtf you are but you can claim arab all you want, just don't drag the rest of us into your search for your long-lost daddy.

Speak for yourself. I'm Somali, my forefathers are Somali. The only non-Somali ancestry in my DNA are possible Oromos of Ethiopia. So please don't drag us into your confused soul-searching identify complex. We are sub-Saharan African and natives to Africa.

Arab identity is mainly based on linguistic and cultural grounds, but also other factors. The only thing Somalis share with Arab is religion. As I said before, you are much close in lineage to Ethiopian Oromo Christians than you will ever be to an Arab Muslim. Just embrace it bro.

You, personally, may have some Arab ancestry but the wider Somali public do not.
