Its a must to drive in North America. Even if you are taking the subway to work in big city NYC or Toronto, you need to have a vehicle. Many of the major cities have crappy public transportation. Secondly, the cities are so spread out. People want to live in the suburbs, third. Its just as important as a house for many people.

Driving can even affect your employability. If the hiring manager finds out an abled bodied candidate of age 25 did not drive to his interview, it can get your name crossed out. Waa very ceeb. Its even worse in places like Atlants or Miami or Texas and some places in Canada. International global cities...These places dont even have sidewalks for pedestrians. Even walking is discouraged

Very bad culture. Anyone from your friends to bouncers at clubs will judge you if you cant produce driivers license. I can understand why my father forced me at age 16 to get it. If I didn't have one after high school Iwould have not survived out there

My uncle in Edmonton was telling me his daughter (think she's 16) drives too. I don't even have a license  I just drive my Mums car without insurance for a few errands here and there. Getting a car/insurance is so much money,
i think it's 18 in toronto, in alberta it's 16.
insurence is sky high in toronto too, that's why most ppl commit fraud here (adressing to a lil town within ontario).. see the system is built to be cheated imo...they know most ppl can't afford it and yet they make insurance 300+

thank God for options!
