My first though on watching Firefly was that that it's a rip-off of Blake's 7... It got better production values and more money, it didn't have as good stories, and of course it didn't have Servalan, best baddie ever...

But it has brilliance combination of seriousness and downright hilarity of those other Joss Whedon shows, as did, in my opinion, Farscape

Farscape has got a scifi Muppet show thing going on. just watched season 1 e1 & e2 .I might consider skipping to season 2.

lol...I think of this less as SF than as a live action version of a demented cartoon. Could be a goood thing. even when story got eye rollingly bizarre, the characters were strong enough keep me watching

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Dark Angel
Caprica (it was meh, but still BSG)
Defying Gravity (finally found the title)

The Sarah Connor Chronicles were way too good to cancel (even if a bit patchy and made-up as we go)
