Fartaag and Mohamud Sayid Addan are the same, they are both individual opportunities and have long history in Marehan civil war battles. Sayid Addan is worse based on the unanimous opinion because his position is totally alien to the unanimous Marehan position. All in all, Sayid and Fartaag are both bitterly resented but of the two Sayid is more derided.

It would make sense for the Hagites to hive off Gedo to SW State.
They would make the Marehan a minority in a sea of D & M, and weaken Ogaden in the remaining Jubbas.
