i tend to agree with you, but you are making a serious mistake.
britian is the center of antichrist/world domination system, london has been the head quaters since the mid 17th century.
New york/wallstreet and many more are mere extensions of london.
I believe this article, Britain is sure to boom.

LiquidHYDROGEN wrote:Bullshit. They can't predict what is going to happen in 5 years properly, let alone in 16.
GDP by definition is full inaccuracies, so assuming we have the same level of inaccuracies in this and last years figures we can therefore make a calculated assumption of the state of an economy in 5 or more years.
But you are right this is too simplistic.

All that list really tells us is the fall of Europe is imminent, many countries will remain poor and that North America is still the most wealthiest and most prosperous place on the planet.

America is still the only superpower and no one will take that title for a very long time. Europe is finished. You have Canadia with as much people as Maine basically neck and neck with European giants Germany and the UK  And India, Mexico, Brazil and China will still have many poor people.

The US and Canada are the only winners here. One keeps it's status and the other will become a world power. I am sure they both have GDP per capita of $80,000 at this poimt

that might have been true during the empire, but not anymore, not since WW2 ( Marshall plan) anyway.

I predict camels will become extinct in Somalia. That will be a social, economic and political disaster. Somalia should invest in oil wells. In thirty years time Somalia will have been brought into the neo capitalist fold. They have resisted it for far too long.

Well they can do what china did 20 years ago but will they?
this is the question you should ask.
Those crafting china's economic strategy mainly come from a non economic background, most are engineers.
they are pragmatists of the first order, they have goals and they do whatever it takes to achieve them.
Indians are handicapped by their elite which are believers , they actually believe in allot of the economic theories and ideologies around.

India is already on track and has been doing the same reforms for years. China was not an innovator either, they copied the same reforms that South Korea did in the 1970s, who in turn copied the Japanese from the 1950s. Now it's India's turn.

China is not a genius country doing the impossible, China is a giant country with a strong government, of course they are going to surge forward when they finally got rid of Mao and implemented some commonsense reforms.

The smartest things China has been doing is manipulating their currency to keep wages artificially low, which is something India also does.

How is that smart? Sure it makes them more competitive in exports but that doesn't do much for the standard of living of the average Chinese even if they've technically brought hundreds of millions of people "above the poverty line" (whatever that means).

Kenya can do the same reforms you still wont get the growth rates of south korea or taiwan.
India has not taken off because it doesnt have the infrastructure of china, and i dont see them building it to level china had in the 90's.
compare 1991 china and 2014 india and china back then still had better rail, road and port infrastructure.
not to mention cheaper and more accessible electricity.
There is also the administrative framework, with extreme somali levels of corruption in india, and ofcourse there is culture.
Culture is a big factor, the good news is culture can change. germany in the 1840-1860's was regarded by the british as a nation of lazy, theives with no discipline. An american observer said something similiar about the japanese bieng lazy people in the 1920's.

and lastly there is the supply chain, china is very close to the supply chain for electronics and textiles and light manufactured goods.
it just needed to plug in to the supply chain back in the 80's.
india is too far off, and its own section of the supply chain is not well developed.

this means for an iphone built in india and china today, it will be cheaper to manufacture the iphone today in china despite indias workers working for half. labour input is not that big.

Its not smart, its a necessity in this world of the dollar hegemony.
Deng xiao ping and his associates envisioned an export led growth of just 10-15 years and then concentration of internal growth.
too many people made allot of money from exports and used it to derail the plan.
The turn inwards as planned is back in action.
