there is nothing else for them to vote on. 90% of the country comes under the authority of other governments (puntland, somaliland, jubbaland, ahlu sunnah). what authority do hassan sheekh, the pm and 275 guys in mogadishu have outside of mogadishu, baydaba and beledhweyn?

Greenday is it silly for Parliament to say, hey we got rid of the last government not just the pm, because they did a terrible job and therefore we don't want the same guys who failed to come back? It is pretty logical to me.
the reason they got defeated today was that the motion was againist the constitution wich gives every mowatin such right besides the khilaf was between the pm and prez

How is logical for the parliament to dictate to the pm who should be a minister and who should not at the same time accuse the president doing the same thing!!

The parliament has stayed out of this bc its totally againist their role!.

AbdiWahaab, this president is not choosing his battles well. This is a minor thing that he unnecessarily escalated to a big deal. This makes him look like an uncompromising micro-manager who doesn't mind ruling over a polarized government.

I called this a long time ago. I spoke to people who knew him well and said he was a micromanager. Too bad my buddy Saacid did not listen to my 12 point memo.

First off...there is no "Govt" in Somalia.
There are no functioning institutions neither
This political charade is worse than meaningless, because it gives false hope that progress is being made.

Somalia needs to build it's security forces, and I don't mean moryaan with uniforms.
A professional army/police will deliver more to the population than hundreds of socalled ministers.

I could go on but slumber beckons.

The Qatari money is hard to beat. Bribery is the only way you get votes in Mogadishu.
