Re: Last Japanese Soldier.....
If people have this dedication to duty and obey their superiors,
they will make good slaves when they are defeated, as they will obey the new power structure.
this is the disadvantage here.

True. I suppose a balance is required. I'm reading The Korean War by Max Hastings and he mentions the thing that annoyed the American GIs in korea was that the average korean was haughty and quick to anger while the japanese were docile almost to the point of servility.gurey25 wrote:If people have this dedication to duty and obey their superiors,

In other words they were sheep. The thing in life is to be a good human being not a good citizen. You don't just obey orders, just because they are orders. They have to make sense to you as a human being with a God given cognitive ability to work out what is morally and sometimes logically right to do as is the case in this scenariowhile the japanese were docile almost to the point of servility.

Re: Last Japanese Soldier.....
if they are sheep somalis are cats.
try herding cats.. cats have no respect for or recognize power structure, at least dogs will bend over for the alpha male, till he gets his chance to kill him and takeover.
