btw, this photo was done by American photographer John Stanmeyer who won the World Press Photo of the Year award for 2013 on Friday in Djibouti holding their cellphones to the sky, seeking a better reception signal.

this stupid argument always makes me question the sanity of some people.
How da fuk can you make an economic argument against somaliland?
We are not linked to somalia economically, infact even in the past from 1960 to 1990 we had a colonial like link to xamar with near zero economic benefit, and even then we had hardly any trade with somalia.
So how can you argue that going alone is bad for us economically????????
being tied to somalia is so damaging, billions of dollars in potential investment lost.
Do you Haille sellasie made the same silly argument against Somalias independence in 1950 in the UN.
He was against the trusteeship to Italy and the promised independece 10 years later.
He argued that Somalia is linked to ethiopia economically and it is not economically viable to be independent.
He also claimed that somalia should be given to ethiopia so that its people could enjoy development.
the same argument was made against eritrea as well in the 80's .
