There is nothing contradicting the existance of intelligent alien life in islam.
Our religion would be the only one that would not have an upheaval and adjust quickly if aliens visited earth tommorow.

As others have said for muslims it wouldnt be a big deal. Allah is rabbul caalamiin. The lord of the worlds. We know only what we need to know.

This topic does raise up some interesting questions though

1.Were their life forms created before us ( besides angles and jinn and other animals[dinosaurs?])?
2.What about created after us ?
3.After Youmul Qiyamah will there be another creation that takes our earthly place?

i think aliens and jinn are pretty much the same.
