Full story aaa Where's the warrant? Why didn't he read him his Miranda rights? Why didn't the officer disclose why he's arresting him? Why didn't he give him his name? He's breaking every rule in the book and you wanna hear the department's cover story

Those are all very good points, but my reasoning was that the video starts when the cop is trying to arrest him, but we don't know from the video what lead up to it. Are we really to assume that a police officer came to someone's house just to arrest them? There must be a reason no matter how unjustified it is.

According to the police department it was a call for disturbing the peace. It was originally going to be a misdemeanour summons for disturbing the peace but when he tried to shut the cop out of his house it got changed to resisting arrest and battery of a police officer

Apparently the cop could smell weed coming from the house, that's why he wanted to come in/wanted to see ID. Meh

Also how prudish does one have to be to call the cops because your neighbour is cursing? Not breaking shit, not setting fireworks off illegally, he was cursing and they thought they could smell weed. Shitty reason to call the cops, I think.
