I am not saying we are Arabs but I think Somalis have more in common with any other human than the subhuman African Negros, whether they are in Kenya, Mozambique or Boosaso.

we are closest to the oromos and afars of ethiopia who are africans. but then again we are also closer to some arabs (for example the Yemenis culturally) than lets say the Zulu or some other south africans.

but you have to remember most arabs today are NOT the same people who originally created the arab language and were ethnic arabs. you have alot of arabized people. the original arab people were probably not much different than modern somalis and ethiopians. meaning they had dark skin and probably curlier and kinkier hair. probably looked more like the beja than the fat ugly saudis we see today.

if most somalis looked like the barwani or reer xamar, you might have a point. but somalis look like black people. funny how europe can have diverity in looks. I mean the italians look different than the swedes, yet I haven't heard people claim they are different races. why not the same for africa? we have features that are consistent with their neighbors in africa. black skin. curly to kink afro hair. we have smaller noses. but so do the Maasai, Fulani, Oromo, and many other native africans.

That means out of all the humans on earth, somalis (and other afro-asiatic speakers) are most closesly related genetically to the bantus. Europeans and Asians branched off much earlier. So europeans and asians are genetically more distant from us than our bantu cousins. Once again if most somalis we're part of the E haplogroup like most other africans, you might have a point. But whether its genetics or simple phenotype, the pure Somali is quintessentially African.

now I'll wait for you to post pictures of the minority of light skin somalis we have that look arab/indian. But just know that just because a minority of somalis share features with arabs or indians doesn't change the fact most somalis don't. all it shows is a long history of mixing considering we are separated from arabia by nothing more than a few miles of sea and since we have the longest coastline in africa, we have had a long history trading on the indian ocean.

Many people comment on this without even trying to understand the question. I am not asking you to tell me if we are African negros or Arabs.

I am asking if you think we are more closer to the Arabs whom we share religion or if we are closer to the African negro gaal whom the only thing we share is skin complexion?
