Knew it wouldn't be long before former drug addict and now slave of an elusive Johnson made an impassioned defence of these criminals.

i guess the Canadian Somalian criminals have a lesser iq than the Somalian criminals of england. The iq of criminals is decreasing around the world.

Before opening this thread, I was praying that it wasn't Somali :snoop:

Cherine, don't believe the media hype. Yes we have a gang problem, but most Somalis here work, attend university (or at least college), and own their own homes. Can the same be said about UK Somalis?

AJ: actually no, it isn't so. I would not attempt to speculate about Canada or Canadian Somalis as I don't know much about them, because I am also not in the habit of making blanket generalisations regarding what I don't know. What I do know is that the UK Somalis of this (my) generation are mostly university educated, employed, earning halal living without Riba/interest or involving haram substances (something I know you don't believe in, but don't start picking fapping off about that, it's important to some of us here, so show 'tolerance'). They're supporting their family both here and in Somaliland & Somalia. Yes, we have a marfish crew here same as anywhere else in the world, but (a) that age group is mostly a dying breed, (b) qaad is a class C banned drug in the UK, about to be made illegal through parliamentary bill soon, which would affect on imports/exports (did Canada ban it?), and (c) they're discreet, children are not involved as there's a fear of social services finding out, and local community 'ceeb' on women eating qaad. There are the typical young & middle aged (crisis!) who are 'nolosha kadhacay' involved in crimes, but in such low numbers that you hear about incidents once every 2 or 3 years, if that? Yes, older generation (including my mum) received 'dole' from Govt to finance their & our way, how else could they do that without language skills & qualification & experience to get jobs?
I was talking about Somalis in general. But even in my own & my family's example (as a case in hand) alxamdulillah to say I am impressed with where we are and how we're doing, although our achievements would probably pale in comparison to many other Somali brothers & sisters in the UK.

Methylamine: we tick most boxes except one; Brit Somalis that own homes are those that bought them during the 80s & 90s. Not saying that nobody is buying homes now (we were actually looking for houses recently) but the housing market is so competitive and volatile that you'd have to put a very substantial deposit down, one which most Somalis here admittedly do not have, especially if you're seeking 3 bedrooms + appartments/homes (deposits in region of £50,000 depending on financial assessments, expensive mortgages, full price in region of £250,000 - 400,000 depending on region).

Thank goodness we have conceal & carry weapon permits here. If they stormed an event here, they would be sent into the next life. We don't play that out here.
