I thought they made a camp outside the village of Taleex?
I mean even Laascaanood which has been under our for 7 years
does not have SL troops within the town ...they are camped
about 50 kilomteres away towards Garowe.
About the reason for invasion ...I think everything
should be done to keep Somalia offcials out of Somaliland.
Their sole desire is to see our land be destroyed
possibly by using their african minions and their UN friends
I would have let them come ...then shot them on site
Forget Mandheera

Assuming what you are saying is true, what would Somaliland do with a captured Abdiweli ? The Taleex excursion was a waste of resources as are all things related to Khatuumo. Khatuumo was on its death bed and in comes Silaanyo to breath life back into it. Khatuumo won a major PR victory with the withdrawal which sources tell me came after Silaanyo was pressured by the US & UK.
I can gaurentee you that there was no foreign pressure, withdrawal was planned from beginning.

I think Somaliland's army reaching Taleex had nothing to do with a concern about Somalia PM visiting the town anytime soon. I don't think people in villa Somalia are irrational enough to send their PM to a Somaliland territory especially now and in this circumstances. But I reckon there was a general concern that if strong signal has not been sent sooner by SL, Puntland and even worse FG of Somalia would start sending lower officials to the town to test the waters.
You might ask if Puntland officials were allowed to visit the town from time to time previously to do some job that might also helped Somaliland in some way, what has changed now. Strategy has changed and a decision has been made to discontinue that policy and to respond strongly against any intrusion from Somalia.
Khatumo has proven to be a strategic asset to Somaliland and it would be wholly unwise to dissolve them at the moment. They have done and still doing a brilliant job in separating Dhulbahante from Puntland.
The signal has been sent and now the army is camping in a location in Xudun where they can quickly reach Taleex and punish any intruder from Somalia but Khatumo presense is treated as a local issue that need to be solved in a dialogue and in compromise when the time is right.

LeJusticier you can't be serious? TBH no side what's to escalate the situation to that degree where you would send troops to where the PM is at. Do you can arrest him? Seriously, think how much sense that makes. Also, how clueless are you guys to not know that the PM has been in Kismaayo for nearly a week now, I mean at least go there when he lands
Lastly, don't make sl out to be Israel abducting nazis as they please

Abti, Taleex steps was to applied deterring venomous snakes from Abdi weli and Jamac buluug Somaliweyn fake propaganda similar to what has taken place in Buuhoodle.
I doubt the PM would show, but if that's the case I understand the motive of invading. Honestly Abti, in my recent trip to Sool I saw that the area is becoming more and more militarized, zero humanitarian assistance reaching the region, a steady decrease in Population, prisoners from Sool(many are arrested for sporadic political demonstrations) being jailed and sentenced in Burco, Berbera far from their families etc. Its obvious the majority of the people there do not support Somaliland, Silaanyo has attempted reconciliation, however he uses military superiority as a means to eventually make dhulos surrender. Dhulos people are leaving Hargeisa and Burco in high numbers especially Reer Buuhoodle, I understand SL's interests and position, but when you are in the region you can't help but ignore the militarization and oppression.
Wallahi I wonder if a large scale massacre were to happen if SL citizens would even bat an eye. Most people i've spoken to never criticize gov't actions in the east, and only watch SLTV and local newspapers/websites as a source of info, and have a us against the world mentality which promotes SL nationalism. People don't travel to the east, and reaching the border is their only goal. What I meant to say is what's sad is there is an apparent lack of empathy, which can be dangerous. These are general observations I have made in my time in SL. Not saying the other side are angels either.

I hope the Government de-escalates and focuses more on reconciliation, at the same time make it clear that there will be no changes in status untill the issue of recognition is settled.
Sadly we are all hostage to the situation.
