Hargeisa is just too expensive now. My mother forked out $20k to buy a plot of land in the outskirts of hargeisa 3 years ago, now that spot is worth $35k. Hargeisa is very expensive now.

I have a cousin who was offered a quart of a million for a shoop in suuqa hoose. Rising land prices is a bad thing, the gov needs to regulate this.

This is the right time for a Land Value Tax.
government gets revenue, and real estate speculation is eliminated.

Do governments set rates or do they depend on variables e.g. different areas of Hargeisa. Also how will you know whose land is whose? There's no postcode or record of ownership.
Also what's a suitable rate?

We bought a plot of land that can house 8 standard sized homes around 5-10 minutes west of hargeisa, the price was $10,000 ,also in ceel sheikh, a village by the coast west of berbera, we claimed a plot of to which the locals said no one lived on, and in ceerigaabo district my abti sold us fertile land for only $5,000
