Influential in that she sets trends, she has a huge fanbase, and people buy into her image.hyperactive wrote:influential for what, for ugly people?BaastoUnit wrote:Beyonce is described as influential because she is exactly that. The same way Oprah Winfrey would be described as influential.
kind of you can be ugly and rich and famous woman?
Shouldn't this be viewed as a positive? That an ethnic woman who remained true to her features is considered the 'most beautiful' woman? Isn't this a blow to the standard of beauty in Western (and many Eastern) societies? Or is this simply a marketing tool that will continue to allow major magazine companies to "pick" who is considered beautiful enough to make an arbitrary list year in and year out? How long are we going to consume and be apart of these corporal beauty pageants?zulaika wrote: Black women, who have to rely on this society's consensus of beauty..as contrived by the media, are portrayed here as "most beautiful" when they look like Lupita(who looks like a black woman) and "most influential" when they look like Beyonce(who looks like a white woman). So what is the message here that is implicitly sold to black women then?
C'mon, she's not the best of course. I don't think most celebrities are, I can walk down a street tomorrow morning and I bet I'll see plenty of women better looking than Angelina Jolie or any other celeb but Lapita's not ugly at all. I love her skin tone, it's one of my favourites and she has very thin, delicate looks, she's pretty. Not the best you'll ever see and pales in comparison to Somali or Ethio women for me but not ugly...Tanker wrote:The magazine are insulting us by claiming this ugly bitch is the best Africa can provide she is so ugly and looks disgusting she looks like a boy!
What is special about her skin color ? 80 % of africnas has that brown skin color and it has nothing to do with being beautiful! calling her pretty is an insult towards 99% of somali females okay she is beautiful in a bantu standard but they should stop claiming her as a representative for Africa ! even many west african girls are much more beautiful no normal man will turn on that disgusting ugly thing.....Aezana wrote:C'mon, she's not the best of course. I mean how her skin shines, I dunno how to describe it but she's hit a certain flawless unblemished brown that I personally like. But I agree on the African count... I sincerely hate how Jareer/ Sudanic or Bantu people or whatever you want to call them act like the African indentity is all theirs as though they're forgetting the Amazighs of North Africa, horn Africans or the San people. You are not the only f-king types of Africans, stop acting like you are. I agree on that count but no need to insult her, man.Tanker wrote:What is special about her skin color ? 80 % of africnas has that brown skin color and it has nothing to do with being beautiful! calling her pretty is an insult towards 99% of somali females okay she is beautiful in a bantu standard but they should stop claiming her as a representative for Africa ! even many west african girls are much more beautiful no normal man will turn on that disgusting ugly thing.....Aezana wrote:C'mon, she's not the best of course. I dunno if she is using creams but I have met horn african women with that skin type, ones I was related to that I could tell just naturally had it. Even I used to and still get complimented for how smooth and unblemished most of my skin is. I'm 19 and never really had pimples on my face, just the RARE one on the side of my head next to my hair and that fades quick. I maybe jumping to conclusions but I think we have quite nice skin, flawless and smooth most of the time. And calm down with the Jareer or bantu hate, they're different from us, truly, but there's no need to hate on them.Tanker wrote:the reason why her skin is shinning is because she is using expensive creams that helps her..... a lot of horn african women have that shinning brown skin color without creme and also her expensive dresses and a lot of makeups is making her somehow cute but without all those things she looks like your typical ugly bantu girl
