mate hyundai owns kia they bought it in 1998 and all KIA engines are made by hyundai.
They are near identicle brands, although the KIA bodywork design is brilliant,
i think hey hired pinanfarina in italy thats why they look really good.

i am partial towards hyundai and kia hey ar really good quality, they have an image problem which is being overcome.
Toyota had an image problem in the 70's as a low quality car.

My first car was a hyundai 90 excel a shit box but i loved it.
then it was mercedes c200 2000 model, then lexus IS300 2007 model, then the economic crisis forced me to downgrade to Honda civic 2008.

Now i drive a Honda CRV 2008 SUV not bad.

I've always struggled to understand these north americans, they make a thread on how much they earn and its enviable, and then they post what they drive it doesn't make sense, most people i know drive no less than e-class or 3-series and they got shitty jobs.

p.s. i think kias come with life-time warrantee
Yeah my sentiments exactly, BMWs, Mercedes etc are what come up in my mind when I think of cars, not really a Lexus. I guess it's the different cultures. But where a Mercedes here is £30k (with some good negotiation skills) and some people make up to £60k per year it's easy to get that kind of car, North American Mercedes may be like $80K which is hard to buy even with the $100K salaries.

AbdiWahab, I get mixed feelings with the Tahoe.

Mercedes C class is $39K here but Mercedes is for elderly pensioners.

I know Hyundai owns Kia, but it seems like Hyundai has the edge in quality. Kia is where Hyundai was 5-10 years ago, sooner or later they'll gain respect in the auto market.

AbdiJohnson, this will be your best bet for a midsize sedan

compare any kia to any hyundai and you will get a car that shares 90% of the parts not only the engine but the transmission and electronics, breaks AC are identical.
its the same care , they keep both brands for marketing purposes and they allow the design teams freedom to do the body work.
for example if i want a better looking Hyndai Sonata, i will buy a Kia Optima its the same care just different body.
