Probably. Not sure if there was a clause regarding this but anybody with a parent born in Somalia would be a Somali national by default.Jasmine6 wrote:I am talking about on an officially capacity. Would you be lying by saying you don't have Somali nationality?

I'm an American national of Somali origins. I don't think I have Somali nationality as I don't have any Somali documents

the question "where are you from originally?" just means are you white or not.Jasmine6 wrote:After you tell them you should ask, what about you?Murax wrote:Being that I wasn't born in Somalia, and Somalia has no Gov I probably don't even have Somali nationality. Still though every American asks Me 'Where are You from originally' even though I have no accent. Next time I'll just say Wtf, I'm originally American, whats 'original' supposed to mean?

Somali takes the number one spot, as I am ethnically Somali born in the U.S, raised in Canada and I also have Ethiopian citizenship card also"don't ask". I would add Djibouti as well but my grandmother is from there so I'd give myself a .5.
I'd say 4.5 Nationalities.

The diversity on here
I answered No to the question, as far as I am aware it is not a lie. That said, inshaAllah when I go back to Somalia I'm definitely getting myself citizenship and a passport. It would feel amazing to have the nationality of the country where I am part of the majority. No longer would I ever tick a box that says Black African or be an "immigrant".
Just realised I'd still be considered a dayusbaro immigrant
Oh well, still a Somali woman in Somalia
