I'm 100% sure that Ethiopia if given the chance would transfer the slums of buttland into a civilized liveable place in a matter of few years. Anyway the current people who live there are good for nothing folks who only excellent in hate & destruction

ps. Ethiopia is not going everywhere. Accept that.
Godey has an Irrigation dam that helps the farmers take advantage of the river and stop floods.
It's a Biyo xireen for irrigation but am sure when they're done with the Renaissance dam they will build one on the shabelle. Then you won't see much water considering the shablle doesn't contain that much water in Somalia and doesn't reach it's end like the Jubba.
This is the river in middle shabelle and Hiiraan regions.

And this is the same river in Cadadleey and Godey, Gobolka shabelle, Ogaden

What a naive person! What would this solve? At the end of the day, you're just swapping one land of yours for another that belongs to you. You haven't really gained anything have you? You never appease your enemy. Take that advice with you in case you end up being high ranking politician some day.
Re: Would Ethiopia agree on this land exchange ?
Cut the crap. We don't care if you have large amount groundwater. Puntland today is waste land . There are no oil or other natural resources. Puntland population is about 600,000. not much taxpayers. The place is hopeless. It also suffers from tahriib epidemic. !6 years of qasaaro.Estarix wrote:Something like 99% of our drinking water comes from groundwater and Puntland has a large amount of groundwater. Not to forget in certain seasons with good irrigation system the land can be used for farming; places such as Nugaal is an example. There is also potential for large amount of oil and other natural resources that is valuable to Somalia.
Puntland also has sizable towns with infrastructure and relatively educated populace that can provide a tax base for any country in horn.
In addition it has nearly a 1/3 of the coastline providing ports to other lands. Another important factor is that it allows land access to other parts of Somalia.
You're making me happy now. Thanks for clarifying. Ethiopia could become superpower for all i care, as long as Somalia keeps benefiting, it's all good. Hopefully Somalia can make use out of Ethiopia's desperation for sea access.Ethiopia does not have a port and the current deal with Djibouti is at very best temporarily as it relies on political stability between the two countries - not to forget it costs more for Ethiopia to use its port and supply its country. With port access in Bosaso Ethiopia will have free access to port.
I can only see how such a deal could immensely empower Ethiopia's position and strength. Considering Ethiopia and Somalia are eternal enemies it would be a bad deal.
Hilaac
That's catastrophic. Somalia must save it's lifeline at the expense of puntland.

puntland doesn't belong to me nor does kilil5. Let my enemy be appeased if we both benefit. Maybe they will leave us alone after they get what they dreamed for so long.

Xiinow
For ethiopia, all somalis are the same!
They are using the djibouti ports because its a large port, they pay for djibouti $700m every year
Apart from north, there is no indications that show ethiopia is interesting the somali sea
Once a depate on the ethiopian tv, one of their intellectuals was claiming zialac being an ethiopic(xabashi) name that means trade or silca in arabic
Ethiopia has its eyes on the eritrean afar sea beyond djibouti
A recent study that was published by chatham house is expecting a good relations between eritrea and ethiopia with the departure of aforqi who's said to be afflicted with cancer, in that case ethiopia will use the eritrian ports wich is closer to it than the djibouti port.

Re: Would Ethiopia agree on this land exchange ?
How about this, we split up into Somaliland, Puntland and the south? Best proposal. You wont hear from us and we wont hear from you in Puntland. You can live in your great land with your macasaros, moos and other stuff while I live in mine. Would honestly be my dream I swear lol
We'll also send back the thousands of fuckers staying in our land claiming refugee or internal displaced status back to you considering they'll automatically become non-citizens when that happens.
The audacity kills me though, talking about giving Puntland to Ethiopia when Ethiopian troops are already today right even at this bloody hour in your cities doing whatever they please to whomever they want. Ethiopia is literally colonising you at this hour! You'd think logically it would make sense to give them the lands they are already currently colonising, don't you think mate?
Well I certainly think so

That's a strategic land and i don't think they would be open to the exchange offer, they already have full over sight authority in Puntland as we speak now, using the port for free, the locals have immense love/respect for them and do as told.
