Beserk was great before it turned into fairytale nonsense. That coupled with one of the slowest author work-rates ever kinda puts me off it.

I hope season 2 comes out soon, I got lots of time on my hands all of a suddenLyre wrote:I just... I thought everyone else had forgotten about AoT. It's left quite an impression on me. The second season is taking too damn long to come out so I might have to read the manga for now. But damn... I'm glad I'm not the only one missing it.

at all the stupid mysteries left. Can somebody who reads the manga tell me if they start to actually let us know what the fook is happening soon? A simple yes or no is cool. I really don't even know what the plot is.

Re: Attack on Titan
If you suckers havent seen Naoki Urosawa's masterpiece, Monster, then you better go check it out, it is immense. The plot, setting, character realisation and development, its up there with the best of them.
Attack on Titan is pretty much based on a single idea, a what-if, the author is a twenty-something mangaka and I think he never thought it would be this popular. If you check the manga, especially early on the art is terrible, but its getting better as he hire better assistances. That might be why it is a little slow to develop, stretching material enough for a couple of volume over a larger span would take a its toll on the pacing. The reason it will take a while for the second season to air is because of production values, the show is actually amazing when it comes to the animation and CG, the scenes where they are swinging between structures like spriderman are so well done, and that takes time people.
As to the best manga out there I gotta give it to Eichero Oda's One Piece, pretty much the best work of fiction I have ever read.

Re: Attack on Titan
I couldn't agree more about the works by Naoki Urasawa... Soon as I read 20/21st century boys and Pluto, I was hooked on the seinen/psychological genre and have pretty much devoured all the good mangas from that specific genre. Takehiko inoue is my all time favorite mangaka especially for his art work in Vagabond and Real.Ben Dover wrote:If you suckers havent seen Naoki Urosawa's masterpiece, Monster, then you better go check it out, it is immense. To keep things brief:
Top 5 manga I would recommend (besides Naoki works): Real, Vagabond, Vinland Saga, Shamo, Holyland
