We both know what a somali is. Let's not debate a pointless topic. What clan do they claim? Or do they just go by the name Walashma? DO they have authority and influence in the countries they live in?

^^^^Can you not turn my topic into a tribal one? The Walashma were not part of any major clan but were most likely a Dir-Afar-Arab hybrid. I'm not interested in Aabo Siyaad's version of history.

I'm not Ogaden nor darood.. but if you want to read about history you should leave all bias a side to know the truth.. search without any glasses then you might find the answer.. they were no dir-afar arab hyrids just the ogadens you see today.....
trying to rewritte history is crime, its like destroying the entire purpose why we read historical recordings

You seem to be the most pro-ogaden "non-ogaden" I've ever seen. Again, either provide proof or move along and stop polluting my thread with nonsense.

I have studied very little detail about the Adal empire, futah al xabashi etc etc.. I don't really have time right now! but i will PM you some time the proof and everything with great details..
it has nothing to do with me being pro-ogaden because I'm not in all honesty..

Walashma predates the Ogaden clan the Ogaden clan trace 27 to their absame ancestor the walashma were around the 11 century, There is no clear evidence that Umar DunyaHuz was the great grand son of Absame clan Dont believe what Wikepedia feeds you

Wikipedia is not a valid source. I have read futuh al xabash lot's of times and I have yet to see any connection with Absame-Ogaden.

People need to make a choice, if they want to claim walashama and other ancient history,
they need to change the darood is an arab from yemen story,
because there are more than one ismail jaberti's the most authentic and the one with the most evidence is alive in the 1400's.
If they want to claim walashama they should choice over the arab origin story or a native somali ancestry.

Lol@picking and choosing ancestry. Gurey do you know when I did that silly dna test a few years back and I got the T-haplogroup result. It said my nearest relatives were Ciisa, Gurgure and Ogaden. What does that say about somali tribal claims?

nothing new really.
The story is simple and obvious, all somali clans are confederacies, the newer ones are the ones that comprise a smaller number of confederates.
Isaaq is obviously a confederation of the decendents of shiekh isaaq and his small group of arabs that migrated to the area, the mahe dir who welcomed him and gave him a wife, and the other dir clans that lived in the area.
Now the genetics part is difficult to figure out because the original bani hashem will definatley have more than one haplogroup, among arabs T was rare but still present and still is present in hejaz, most were J1 and J2 and 25% E3b1 like the somalis .

LiquidHYDROGEN wrote:What happened to them? Were they killed off by the Imam or by the xabash?
No we still exist lol
Many just moved into different groups
Wardiiq were also known as Walashma, some went into ogadeen some into shiekhaal, etc.
But they know their true wardiiq origins,
Yusuf Al Kownayn was a Wardiiq man, henceforth anyone who abtirsis to him = Wardiiq
also remember Wardiiqs were influential in Ifat and Awdal, they people didn't go anywhere they are still there, some call us madexweyne dir , basically the ruling class of somalis from the dir extraction in that era, I think so since everyone we go we are their kings
any awdal questions

ask me, since im from there
don't forget we pushed the habash into the mountains they reside today
sax

Borama arabs? war niyow i was there there were hardly arabs, just contract workers
I'll have to ask my parents if I missed seeing them lol, i seen some in this one house but i wasnt sure if they was like from here or just yemen arrivals/random
i didn talk to them
if you're talking the reer zalicis thats something else entirely (some
could arabs but culturaly zaylici) also remember zaylicis are indian, somali, canfar, arab etc

Ogadeen didn't even live in jigjiga! at the time of awdal and ifat! LOOOOOL how did they fly to zaylac

how can they become "walashma"
it's a fact the "walashama" dynasty is a wardiiq that lives amongst ogadeen Wardiiq= Ruling Class of the North hence why many want to claim us (Ogadeen,Isaaq, etc.)
Yusuf Al kownayn was Wardiiq, Wardiiq whoever they live amongst becomes their ugaas. Wardiiqs are ugaases of Ogadeen now

thats what I call on the come up
now hence the "ogadeen claims to awdal" lol im dying, this is funnier then the "ahmed gurey was marehan" spiel they were spouting a few years back
if walashma= wardiiq and wardiiq=dir
how is that ogadeen wtf
half of the entire Ogadeen clan is shegaato anyways
