I have been to SL a couple of times. The food is god awful. That is one thing our xamari cousins have got us beat. When I was in Dubai, the best food I have ever tasted was in a Xamari restaurant.

I have only transitted in Djibouti once for 10hrs. From what I saw, the weather was humid and horrible, the people unfriendly and unwelcoming and the airport was a glorified sauna. I can't comment on the food since all they gave us was warm fruit-juice.

SL has few good places with good food. Oriental hotel has excellent food and choices between Somali, Chinese and Indian menu. Very limited options but nevertheless good. I think they had 3 or four Chinese dishes and same with the Indian.

For restaurants my favorite were Hadhwanaag and Summer Time (fish menu) though I hate the cats.

In SL what I noticed is that veggies are very limited. They do not have that many varieties probably onion, carrot, potatoes, celery, tomato and few others really. Few species including chilli.

I don't like the fact that they have separate sections for men and women. Nacalutula Saudi culture.

It is a motel not a hotel.

Scandinavian, Sham, Artan, Deero and City Center (/mall) are motel.
