Also countries usually make deals with companies when they've become more stable and peaceful. How is this SFG able to do this when they control nothing outside of Mogadishu. They are not even in a position to bargain since they hold no power.

Rest are irrelavent.
Oil deals are not made in the way you think
Its made behind the doors and seas
Some countries like turkey what they are doing are basically introduction and mediation for their companies.

They can sell any blocks they want but anything off the coast of P/L is off limits.
If they do this, they will kill all the good relations Gaas has been forming with Xamar over the past six months.
Why would they betray S/L with the air deal, and antagonize P/L with this oil deal in the same week???

I can't believe some people still trust SFG. I knew from day one it was never sincere whether it was the air deal or this whole talks.

Because they have morons like sahal who couldn't politically manouevre their way out of a wet paper bag. They are condoms there to be used and abused by everyone from starving uganda to odious oil companies.

I heard about this on friday. According to this none of shell blocks reaches Somaliland.

Sahal, the SFG HAS NO RIGHT to sell exploration rights to blocks on the coast of P/L. It will make any further
cooperation by Gaas with the SFG impossible. We will not accept an infringement on our sovereignty on this scale.
Half of these blocks are on Puntland's coast for god's sake, are they crazy??
The SFG must be stupid, Gaas was working with them, sending Asha Gelle to Xamar, trying to play ball.
They have thrown all of the progress out of the window.

SFG is the recognized government even the constitutions says it will be her in accordance with the federal member states. So, constitution wise its the only entity who will sign but it has to cooperate with the regions
People accuse her of ignoring the last part(in accordance)
As for the regions, they want to sign instead wich is totally against the constitution
What will happen is these companies exploring the oil in wich the govt gets its share.
If not, she will block them.
The UN report is already blocking the regions, its an introduction for the coming deals.

This is just meeting. Nothing will be done in the next two years and then new President comes and new deal is signed. Puntland been there done that and it has been firing and hiring firms since 2002

Yeah but when Puntland agreed to join the SFG, they agreed on four things which the SFG can control:
Defense
Immigration
Budget
foreign affairs
I don't see the SFG having any mandate whatsoever on natural resources
Let us admit it, the SFG wants the exploration fees from these comapnies, it is easy money!
After the adoption of the federal constitution, all previous deals signed by the old government are null and void
