Somali+land is a english made name unlike Somali(a) we added just a just singel Xaraf(A) which most of countries in the world have Saud Arabi(a). Keny(a). Syri(a) and so on, unlike you you borrowed whole english word which means (dhul) (Land) and added the somali.

1960 26 june actually was the day this british made name(Somaliland) was buried. and Somali republic was born and not this Iranian+italian flag you have today but the Blue flag whit white star which 10 years was flying in mogadishu was broud to north somaliya and was raised there 26 june 1960...

I have no problem that we took the Somali republic Jamhuuriyada Somalida or the Jamhuuriyada Somaliyeed. But Somalia was not our , its derived from Italian Somalia i think we had this debate before.. Yes the flag was raised and the flag symbolizes Djibouti Kilinka shanaad somalia and somaliland and NFD

and today 4 of those so called Somali territories are all part of Sovreing nations and Somalia has become an AU colonized state

FIRST.. somali republic and somali(a) its same thing.. adding just one Xaraf(A) Its shorten form of Somali republic unlike you you took english made name Somali+(english word)(land) as your children of british queen...

in english language there was no such thing called Italian-somalia.. the term your looking which south somaliya was called before 1960 in english was Italian-Somaliland.. check out all maps of africa before 1960 . south somaliya was called Italian-somaliland and Not what reer waqooyi call Italian-somalia because it does not make sense in english language... this english name (somaliland) its shared name all lands of somali people..

its fabrication of history my friend .. reer waqooyi like to change and fabricate the history.. forexample they like to call south somaliya as Italian-somalia which in reallty before 1960 the south somaliya (in english ) as a Italian-Somaliland. the reason is they dont like this name(somaliland) shared by other somalis.. and also big historical fabrication is 26 june 1960 the nation which become independent was called (somaliland) . thats big historical fabrication.. the newly born nation 1960 26 juune was called Somali republic and its flag was the blue flag..

The south was an Italian colony, they spoke Italian and thus called what they controlled 'Somalia Italiana'. Why would Italians refer to what they deemed their territory using the English language? Doesn't make sense.

Take a look at these for example -

Not true and no fabrications the state of Somaliland gained independence and a week later when they gained independence united with Somalia and formed the Somali republic and they adopted the pan Somaliweynism flag with the 5 pointed star symbolizing Jabuuti Somaliland Somalia NFD and Kilil Somali.

The italians never spoke English and they called their colony Somalia Italiania , only during the Brief period when the Brits defeat the Italian fascist and they occupied the name italian Somaliland started popping out

khalid aliu your tottaly wrong.. Somali republic was born 26 june 1960 and more than 10 years it was known south and north somaliya will be reunited under somali lead free goverment. actually when SYL was born 1943 whole Somalia north and south was Under british goverment.. idea of uniting somaliya under one goverment was not born only that 4 days 26 june to 1 july...

1943 to 1954 Somalia north and south was under british...... and 1954 british ku haray north and south was under UN and Italy and somali lead intrim goverment lead by Abdulaahi ciiise and the blue flag was allready in use mogadishu....

the country which was born 26 june 1960 had the blue flag which was already in mogadishu and was known south will be independent in 4 days to complete the newly born nation called Somali republic also known as Somaliya..

believe me no one in the earth will allow Somaliya to be divided in semi clan republic and last 23 years no one has recogniced so called somaliland no one will ever willl,,

yes a qabiil dream can claime their qabiil towns to be independent. and whole international community know hargeysa goverment has no controll of almost 50% what was former british somaliland borders...
