i think [and i am not knowledgable in this] the ayah is saying, amongst the jews, the christians and the sabians, whoever amongst them believes in allah, the last day and does good [essentially becomes a muslim], allah will reward them [reward as in jannah]. i don't think it means a jew or a christian or a sabian that isn't muslim will be rewarded, rather if they embrace islam and follow the quran and the sunnah of the prophet accordingly they will be rewarded by allah. that's what i think and allah knows best. i ask allah to forgive me if i said anything wrong for it was not my intention.
