A vigil for the fallen brothers and sisters. Those killed by the Nazi incarnate in Iblis's lair A.K.A Israel.

Not true. Only two parties of comparable strength could make a deal or peace. There's no historical precedence where the weaker party got a fair deal.Grant wrote:The Palestinians would have gotten a better deal in 1949.

So, what's your alternative, Arabman? If there can be no peace or deal, perpetual warfare until the Mahdi comes out is your answer eh?sconosciuto wrote:Not true. Only two parties of comparable strength could make a deal or peace.Grant wrote:The Palestinians would have gotten a better deal in 1949.
#Fact: If the Palestinians accepted the reality of Israel, they could've gotten a pretty good deal(relatively speaking), as late as the early 90's.
But it's too late now. Too many settlements have been built and they are increasing every year. Any Palestinian "state" will have to consist of a patchwork of Palestinian cities surrounded by jewish settlements and countryside. Checkpoints everywhere. International borders controlled by Israel.
Bad deal? Well, that's what happens when you stick your head so far up superstition, pride, and irrationality that you defeat yourself quicker than any enemy can.

I really cannot figure out why Somalia is fighting or what we're fighting for. I don't think anyone really knows either. Also Somali's do way more in cause for Somalia, a good chunk of Somalia is kept up by diaspora abroad through saddaqah and building things.
But in terms of activism, what are we supposed to be activist about? Somali's please stop killing each other? Also every single Somalia activist has other Somali's who are on the opposite side of the fence yelling the same exact opposite thing. I remember in 2007, there were folks who were protesting Ethiopia's invasion of Somalia, there was a counter protest that was going on at the same time, and guess what it wasn't Ethiopians who were protesting, it was other Somali's. If you have a plan for what Somali's should be doing in terms of activism that would be agreed upon by all Somali's or majority of Somali's please do tell and I will support. But good chance is whatever you say, there will be a large group of other Somali's who will say the exact opposite thing.

When you have Somali single mothers ululating/cheering for the Ethiopians and the Ethiopian occupation, you know there is no such thing as Somalinimo.
When you have Somali futo-lands competing to carry out the Ethiopian agenda in the region, you know there is no such thing as Somalinimo
Somalia and Somalinimo is long dead and buried, the events of the past few years were the last nails being hammered into the coffin. Our misery and tragedy is 100% self-inflicted.
The misery and tragedy of the Palestinian is also (largely) self-inflicted. I hate to agree with Grant as his writing often smacks of "Rudyard Kipling"-ite Orientalist trollop, but he's right. Palestinians dun goof'd and have been failed miserably both by their leaders(secular or Islamist) as well as their Arab "cousins(who often treat them in worse ways than the Israelis, but let's not mention that, it'll mess up our self-pity narrative). They had numerous chances to carve out a viable state with contiguous borders throughout the decades, but nah, homies was all "we will throw you in the sea" Ok, tough guys. New reality: You don't get shit. How you like them tufaaxs?
All the qunoot/taraweex prayers and moral support in the world will not change the inconvenient reality that Israel has nuclear weapons, and that minute it developed a single one in the early 70's, was the minute it ensured it's permanent position as State of Israel. Knowing that, you would think that Palestinians would settle for the best deal they could get, but nah, qabweyne + irratonality led them to where they are today: spreading (permanent) settlements, and getting fuq'd up every coupla years when Israel feels like testing out it's billion dollar weapon systems.
Palestinians and Somalis, the parallels are too striking to ignore: both hard-headed as fuq, both "proud", both would rather kill their fellow countrymen rather than face the enemy OR deal with reality on the ground as it is.

That's not Rudyard Kipling; it's reality. TAM needs to see the new documentary on the collapse of building seven, and Biko's attention needs to be directed to the start of this particular crisis, the murder of three Israeli teens. Despite their "True Belief", the Truth is not all on one side.

Before now, Palestine was occupied by the Crusades for 88 years. They were defeated by Salahuddin Al-Ayubi, thus liberating Palestine. You got the wrong notion that it can't be liberated until the Mahdi comes out.Leftist wrote:So, what's your alternative, Arabman? LiquidHYDROGEN wrote:I'm actually quite surprised with some of you. I didn't think you people were this dense. Your argument is Somalia's situation is futile while palestine's isn't? Are you fricking kidding me?
1) The palestinian situation is just as self-inflicted as the Somali one. If a miracle happened and the jews suddenly recognized a legitimate palestinian state I'm willing to bet my house that within a minute of them being recognized they would turn on eachother, hamas verses fatah, christian versus muslim, Muslim versus muslim etc. but that's not going to happen because israel will never allow it and by extension neither will the western governments who have total world domination for the forseable future. That is the
very definition of futile.
2)Hamas is just as responsible for the suffering of their people as Israel is. The difference is Israel is a very cynical nation that is looking out for it's own interests and the interests of the israeli people. It's heavy hand is reprehensible but at the end of the day, they are at least benefitting their own people by crippling an enemy and sending a strong warning. Their actions are bad but logical - Hamas' isn't. 800 rockets and not even a single israeli dead
3) You say Somalia is self-inflicted but Palestine isn't? How? Are you blaming women and children in refugee camps of ethiopia and kenya? Are you blaming the myriad of Somalis with sharaf who go back to help in humanitarian causes such as medical, educational and other life-improving projects including business in SL donating money or building wells for your people? The Palestinian situation would have long been averted if they themselves accepted deals with israel. If they get the silly notion of expelling the jews and think pragmatically in getting the best peace agreement with Israel instead of antagonizing a much more powerful and intelligent enemy with western backing. If their "arab brothers" like Saudi, Egypt and Jordan didn't sell them out by co-operating and even providing intelligence and funding isreal. You do realize there are lot's of palestinian snitches and dabodhilifs who constantly work to undermine their own governments and people. Does that sound familiar?
4) There are millions of refugees, internally displaced people, drought victims, orphans, injured and dying in Somalia this very second but not a single peep out of any major news network or government. These are people you and I can help by donating money and spreading awareness across social media and to our friends. These people are dying is not their own fault because of circumstance. They are different however because they re somalis and they come first.
Your logic is deeply flawed. Is it a need to join a bandwagon? Why then not campaign for Burma, Philipines, CAR, your own bloody people? Is it self-hate and a need to dsistance yourselves form Somalia? Or is it an obsession and an inferiority complex with carabta which many of you seem to have? I don't know. All I've noticed is there's a striking pattern - most, if not all, of you seem to be southerners.
Thank you. There is still hope for us after all. To murax or marax or whoever started this topic: Please kill yourself, you are nothing but a waste of bariis and baasto. Thanks in advance.

The Palestinians would have gotten a better deal in 1949. Until they accept something less than all, I don't see them getting anything. Gaza and the West Bank are under occupation because, after 65 years, the war is still going on. I can't see this ending short of a peace treaty. Efforts to harden the division between Zionists and Palestinians are counter-productive. Palestine will become a state when the Palestinians recognize Israel.
Somalis know what has to happen in Somalia. If you say the division began in 1988, that would be 26 years. Let's hope it doesn't grow to 65!
Hamas could recognize Israel tomorrow and it wouldn't change a damn thing.
The Palestinians WILL NEVER have a real state. Israel will continue to control all of land, air, and sea in those territories. The Palestinians won't be allowed to have an army.
It'll be bantustans that will still be under occupation. The settlements are not going to go away either... how do you build a Palestinian state with just Gaza and pockets of the West Bank? Not Jerusalem either.
The two state solution is a farce.
The only solution is one state in which both people's live together and the Palestinian refugees return home.
There is no other alternative.

Re: RE: Huge Support For Palestine (EliteSomali's Thread)
I understand your point but lets face it those somalis fighting for palestine cause would not Do the same for Ogaden, raise awarness, start rallies etc and bring forward demands against the oppressive Ethiopian regime. No they would rather focus on 10 palestine families evicted then to stand up for 100 somalis getting their throat cut by amxar, this quite sickning logic if you ask me. And besides the world is not silent on the palestine issue, it has more support by people then Somalia will ever manage to get.Murax wrote:EliteSomalia, LiquidHydrogen, Substance,
Ofcourse, When it comes to money, finances, 100% of our finances should go to Somalia. Remember if someone goes to a rally, or says something on social media or whatever it doesn't really do jack except make the person feel like they expressed themselves. However I think When it comes to FINANCES and money Somalis have their priorities straight. The entire 10 million Country relies on our remittance funds, as We are trying to do our duty. But in terms of activism in Somalia the only real cause is hoping the victims, innocent women, childeren who got wrapped up int he conflict get the proper help. Aside from that its kind of hard to identify real causes to identify with. The average College aged Somali girl or Guy on the web obviously is not going to truly understand why the people in Somalia are fighting as even Myself I don't understand after all these years following it. However the situation in Palestine is very clear, cut and dry. You have a Country that gets 10 billion in aid from the US Government, bludgeoning the Palestinians who are for the most part unarmed, while the entire world is silent.

1) Whose fault is that? Their leaders have let them down for over 60 years. They will have to live with poor decisions.
2) What's that got to do with you? You come from Somalia! A byword for misery and human suffering. Even if it wasn't a shithole, the pal-israeli situation has nothing to do with you. But the truth is the situation in your country makes Palestine look like Hawaii.
We both know the real reason for your embarrassing obsequiousness towards carabs and callousness towards your own people.

The situation in 1949 was utterly different. The UN partition would have created two separate states, but this was rejected. Since then Israel has conquered the land it holds, including that now occupied by Palestinians. Without a peace treaty, which amounts essentially to recognition for the state of Israel, the Palestinians are lucky to have Bantustans. If Israel were Nazi Germany, the Palestinians would either be worked to death in Israeli factories or simply rounded up and eliminated. It's the Palestinians themselves that have frittered away the Palestinian state, which may now very well not be achievable as a viable entity.
