lol@GeelJire!! When my great-grandfather's biggest accomplishment was looting 100 camels by himself, then being Geeljire is deep in the bones!!
Regardless of their political differences;one thing I noticed while I was in JigJiga is that the natives have decided that rebuilding, investing and contributing the infrastactrue of their homeland shouldn't have any bearings on their political views. Mark my words, jigjiga in few years will be the most beautiful and advanced city in any Somali-populated city. One thing that is unique for this blessed city is that it has an amazing city planning as you would see very wide and properly planned streets all over the city. The other cities that are closer to JigJiga in Ogadenia are Godey, QabriDahar and Dhagah-Buur in that sequence. Godey is freaking major city as I have seen local documentaries and videos about it. You would even get direct flight from via Addis from anywhere in the world. Some huge airplanes fly to Godey.

Unlike DireDawa where everything is so slow; JigJiga is very expensive because of all the money in there...There is some crazy money there and if you have some connections, you can get major businesses enterprises created. Every business venture regardless of its size would make you huge profits...I saw this guy from MN who left a decent job in MN to open a small Ice Cream stand which he surprisingly called Dairy Queen and I bet he makes big bucks! Just don't trust your money with anyone even your parents and siblings  Separate business and family; I think that is Rule #3 in Biggie's Ten Crack Commandments

What else; Reer Awdal are very well-represented as you would see entire areas where the rear Awdal's are holding it down
What else; Well Reer Diini, I mean Cali Yuusuf folks are doing it big over there; even the second in chain of Eega's group  has a business center that is being built
Hyper; That hotel is no longer Khadar who is the owner from the States; it is Nogob now...And speaking of that; trust me in few months, Nogob will be one of the cheapest hotels in JigJiga because of all the major hotels coming up in the area. There is a 9floor one next to it that will be completed in few months and as you can see in this picture, there are two other modern hotels being built right in front of Nogob on the other side of the street.

Another big business sadvantage JigJiga processes is its proximity to Berbera and Boosaaso ports; both of those ports are having hard time handling JigJiga business infrastructures. Jabuuti is mostly used by big-shot business folks and the goverment and you only have few days to take your stuff. Kismaayo will be added to that list soon  Ok jigjiga also has very cheap labor mostly Guraaga people who are honest and hard workers.

Brother, The city has foothills all around it and it is almost all the way into the hills on all sides! If you want real-estate, there are plenty of nice areas to build nice house especially the South-East....Everywhere you go the city is expanding.....

Hyper, It is not that OGs are oppressing anyone, it is just a perception since they are the majority and are easily visible.... Also, if you have money and are building business properties, the government will give you a land....It is a simple business concept. In America, if you bring half-a million and create a business, you would get a permanent resident. I have seen lands given to lots of Ciise, Isaaq, and Godabiirsay....The OGs just make up the majority and that is why they are visible....

As for the too many hotels; there is actually a need for more; when we arrived, we couldn't even get one room from most of the hotels...We had wait a day to get space in Nogob...There are lots of Diaspora folks pouring in;Walaahay I have even seen these Majeerteen guys from China with some Chinese engineers ready to make some crazy money in installing water heater systems for businesses...Remember jigjiga could be very cold sometimes especially in the mornings.Go any major city anywhere in the world, the entire downtown is often hotels and business offices....You would never come out a loser if you build hotels...One of the most stable investments

Did you notice how safe the city is; every night we would walk from Nogob all the way to the old market just to enjoy the people....The only thing I saw was a guy who fall down and broke an arm, and the reason is he was chasing these little kids...And when I asked why, they told me that you are supposed to chase if you see little teens smoking cigarettes and so on....That is focking hilarious....

guhaad accually , it's most save place i ever seen. very safe and even when power was out, women could walk freely and no theift or women chaser. but again is a police state. people even scare from their closest relave to snitch to kililka police!

i would never live there my self. very poor place for my test and for life style. plus all that coruption in individual livel. the closest relative try to trick you for money and they are very hard heaeted. naharees la'an.

how one can sleep well and eat well and dress well when aver 90% are very poor and kids and crazy people begging! broke my heart and my relaves have nerve ask for money when they live in big houses with iron gate with couple oromo maid!

Guhad 123 you shouldn't say reer awdal

the Aden Younis -( Makaahil - Samaroon)
of Jigjiga have been there since Jig jiga was first started, I'm sure you saw many of them
they are Reer JigJigga, and not recent migrants from Awdal,
 though there are a few random Samaroons in Jig jigga chilling about.
Also I heard the Jaarso have mad business in Jigjiga, and have their own neighborhoods,
but it could be just bragging on their part, I'll check out jig jiga soon inshallah 2016.

the pictures were fantastic though, thanks for them sxb.

Did you get to check out Baadiye?
