Have you thought about maybe setting up a camera or video recorder over the night? Often people will find a way to do things to themselves without even knowing it was possible, Maybe it's because you have to keep restraining yourself from trying to stick something in the electric socket? lol
On a serious not tho, some blood clotting factor conditions causes easy bruising or failure of wound to heal, something to keep in mind.
Always try to rule out the possible before you think about the improbable.
