Clinginess isn't a common trait among Somalis though, perhaps a rare few. Although I understand that intrinsically most humans want to be needed, its a part of their fabric as social creatures. The extent to which they do would vary. For an individual that tends to pride themselves on psedo-independence I like being on my own most of the time. I'm an introvert so I don't need to be around people 24/7, so clinginess might not vibe with me. For someone else they might admire the effort and think of it as endearing. Word of caution though I think clingy people might fall for possessive people, which could possibly be emotionally or physically abusive.

YummyMummy does have a point manipulative men can bring out the worst in women, I'm sure the reverse is true as well.

Sophie: good point, especially the last bit. It's a case of people with extreme & opposite personality deficiencies attracting each other. Possessiveness & clingy-ness share the insecurity & attention-seeking traits. But they present in different ways; one demands it, the other begs for it. South & north pole of a magnet.

I feel like I have to explain something to a nascent child. Well as much as we like to say men can be manipulative we must realize women are too, so I said it grudgingly. You misread as usual.

Since u mentioned marraige material girls and clingyness... I Just want to point out that it's the excessive use of calling, texting and wanting to know your whereabouts that makes it "annoying" as u put it, but in moderation and sensible use, these are things a wife will do as well; and rightly so. Nothing wrong with it. As a matter of fact a woman should excersise this(again in sensible manner) well in advance before marrying a man so she knows he's readiness to receive her calls(and whichever wish therein lies )

the last girl i dated was clingy on a extreme after a week i had enough and ended it in fact the headache was so much i did not talk to any girls for 1 month trying to rest from that 24/7 texts.
