It's pretty obvious there is a double standard. On SomaliNet they they try to shame sisters but the men get a free pass. I think these topics are a non-issue. First off the rate of out-marriage is too low to have a felt impact. If we must be honest men marry out more than women. I rarely see Somali gabar with ajnabis, compared to Somali guys. This is sensationalized. In fact all of my close personal friends have never dated out. So, it makes me wonder who you people are talking about. Also, it wasn't until I joined snet or viewed topix that I noticed a staggering number of self-hating Somalis.

It doesn't matter if Somali men marry out they are the dominant partner and there kids will be Muslim, and ethnic Somali. Also, we are given the ability to marry Christian and Jewish women though I wouldn't advise it. There's much less risk and more lee way and if that's a double standard than I guess you have to swallow that bitter pill.

Realistically speaking the only mixed people I have met are the ones who's fathers are Somali. Most of the time the lady would not convert and if it ended in divorce the kids would take the faith of the hooyo. In cases where the lady converted if the marriage fell apart the children would resent Somalis. Most if not all would not identity with a qabil, or would have an identity crisis. I speak for the cases I have seen, these are only the worst case scenarios. I'm sure there are exemplary cases abound.

I know, that's why I recommended not marrying outside in the West because of the points you highlighted.

In my humble opinion, we should refuse to marry our womenfolk to Arabs, Pakistanis and North Africans simply because they think we are beneath them as exemplified by how they abhor the thought of us marrying their daughters. Furthermore, the negative stereotypes that ajnabis in general have about us Somalis in the West makes me want us to adopt a siege mentality when it comes to mixing with others.

In regards to Somali men with ajnabi women, as long as the women reverts and is made to understand that the child is automatically a zoomali no matter his or her reer apti are, i am cool with that. Nonetheless, the chances of the children being raised as Somali is slim so EFF IT, stick to our lovely xalimos. Most of us can find common ground with other ethnic groups in the West laakin nothing beats the compatibility factor of hooking up with someone that you do not have to explain the the cultural quirks that come with being a Somali whenever they have to interact with your family.
