Honestly , It’s so hard to believe these stories. How can people be that brain dead that they would let someone from Somaliland waltz right in and continue the chaos in Somalia. That doesn’t even make any sense :?
Somaliland being so disconnected from the rest of Somalia is an online myth pushed by keyboard kids

There's no connection between SL and Somalia. There's no political, cultural, tribal connection.

The Isaaqs who were part of ICU and AS fought on many different fronts before joining other Somali Islamists. Both Ismaaciil Caraale and Ibrahim al Afghan were known international jihadists who fought in Afghanistan among other places. The idea of waging jihad and winning new ground for the international jihadist movement lead these men to East Africa and Somalia in particular. With their background and connection they were crucial to the movement.

The idea that they sought jihadist elements in Somalia because SL and Somalia is somehow "connected" is absurd.

My Somali Politics SUKCS!!!!!!! I just came back from my local groceries, and what do you see in Minneapolis Star Tribune? Godanes photo and the word terrorist leader is dead! :o I have seen this thread about Godane for days now, but I didn't care sh!T!

So, naturally I have some questions. Godane is from Somaliland? Therefore, an isaaq? The photo I saw, judging from my master skills in reading faces and personality, I judged him as deeply drenched in diinta! I thought Al shabaab was a Konfur phenomenon??? When did the sickness spread to the land of Somali gaalos? (Sorry, my dear Isaaq Somaliland)

Anyway, I think USA trike on this guy, so randomly like that is weak. Why cant they go after ISIS who are slaughtering fellow Iraqians on Youtube????? SO pathetic. :eat:

Dear people from Somalia,

It is easy to blame those that have disconnected from you people and are now prospering rather than taking a hard look in the mirror and see the sole cause for Somalia's destruction and despair.

Its funny to see people on this forum fixating on the fact that he was an Isaaq, rather than the guy telling your youth to keep attacking your streets. As if Alsahbab didnt exists before godane, as if ICU didn't exist before alshabab, As if Somalia warlords didn exist before ICU. Somaliland left 23 years ago and by the looks of your current affairs, they definitely did the correct thing in leaving. So follow in the footsteps of Somaliland and stop making excuses for your poor state of existence. It isn the fault of Somaliland or even Ethiopia, kenya or even alshabab but rather your effed up mentality. Stop killing yourselves and start building.

Sincerely yours,

A Somalilander

Southerners have no dignity or honour left and they only option left for them is to blame al-shabab primarily for their two decade long love affair with death and destruction and by extension secondarily drag Somaliland into what is to any outside observer a Somali problem.

Even if we ignore the fact a handful of men from Somaliland have risen to the top of al-shabab but 90% of this organisation is Hawiye/Darod and southern minorities. What excuse do you have for the other 16 years of chaos when their was no al-shahab?

Al-shabab could disappear tomorrow, this is a possibility but the south still won't have peace, this is a fact.

We all know exactly your wishes for my country, that is why my people are steadfast in their protection of their land and people. I Suggest that instead of wishing ill on peaceful countries, you should go help out your people. This is the difference between Somaliland and Somalia!

Littile devil.

But AL shabaab and Somaliland are an oxymoron mixture. Somalilanders or Isaaq are not exactly historically religious tribe as the Ogadens and Mjs are. I can see these two darood sub clan being dumb Al shabaabans but Isaaq? They are too busy being British , and yelling Diintaa waas whist high in jaad, to be any thing remotely religious. 8-)

I disagree walaal. There is a difference between individual rogues and a culture of a clan. If u do mathematics,---the most qabils with high wadaads, and a culture of religion --Ogaden and MJ with rank high. Isaaq are not typical religious, it is very hard to count known famous Isaaq Imaams, historically that is. :stylin: :stylin:
