^ loll failed instigationnnnn
Zubeir, My student loan is 35k+. Paying it off is breaking my heart bc I know that I won't get past the interest for almost 5+ yrs. Will I get dembi? It's the same as a mortgage isn't it. You get something that you know comes with interest. Wouldn't that cancel our credit cards and internet/phone bills? (if you are late you are charged and must pay interest)....
Everything comes with interest now lol, Can you have a bank account? There's interest if you hit overdraft. I dunno.

The entire Western world is built on interest.....if you live here it's impossible to be apart from it, and live a normal life.

Zubeir Awal,
While Ribba is a major Haram, and Your Aunt is mistaken and in danger, You are also very mistaken in comparing things that are Haram to something like As Salah (Prayer). Leaving the Salah, takes You out of Islam completely. There is the Hadith of the Prophet SAW where He said 'Man Taraka Salaata Fa Qad Kaffr', which means whomsoever leaves the Prayer has left the Religion. You also have the Ayah in the Quran in Surah Tawbah Where Allah says 'Fa in taabu wa aqaamas Salaata Wa Aaatua Zakaaa Fa Ikhwaanukum Fideen'. If they repent by establishing the prayer and paying Zakat then they are Your brothers in Religion. You have another Hadith Where the Prophet SAW said 'Bayna Rajuuli Wa Shirk Tarku Salaa'. The Sahaba did not agree on any deed being disbelief aside from leaving the prayer. Imam Ahmed said that anyone who leaves the prayer out of lazyness is a kaffir.
This is a reminder to Myself any everybody, do not play around with Salah.

Re: Interest-based student loans or Missing Salah?
i believed loans to pay for education, house, health care , car etc had no problem.
i also enjoy putting my money in banks with interest.
you tell a guy to keep some money safe for you. He uses it and probably makes some profit out of it. He then gives it back to you with some of his profit as a thank you. (same case for borrowers too) and both of you benefit.
it is an age old system. even kids do it and so do Islamic banks. there is no bank with 0 involvement in interest.
and everybody needs banks
