LMAO Somaha, runta maa rabtiin fellas. If a Somali girls claims she wants a small wedding, waa beenley, that is just a trick to get a ring on her finger. I know countless engagements that ended because the Farax was lied to. When my cousin was getting married, his girl claimed she wanted something small then ..when the nikaax was set she started making demands, my grandma predicted that 'naagtaan miciyo bey lasobixi doonta' hehe.

My advice is futaa aadan lahayn haku xaadhin Stay in your financial lane do something that befits both of you. If you are a broke miskeen couple go to the masjid and eat your bariis with odayasha xaafada. If you can afford to have a big shindig go for it. The Xalimos don't lie and claim you want a small shindig just to appease your Farax and because you are desperate for the D. You will resent him for not giving you the wedding you wanted. Faraxs if a Xalimo lies to you ..tell her to hit the road don't let her take you for a chump.

A tufaax will suffice...:pac:

I want a Farax who can afford these things, if I were to EVER consider marrying outside of the Somali circle I would UPGRADE .. I am not one of these Xalimos who are desperate for the D they settle for ex con salafi 'brothers'.

Big wedding = more expenses and more stress and a whole lotta people you haven't even heard of. That is the only drawback I can see.
Just invite people you do know. Somali parents tend to invite people just because they are from their qabiil, many times people they even haven't seen or spoken to EVER.
