I already have a non somali name and an uncommon second name so its all good on the application forms till they actually see me
but to be fair its best to keep your somali names. You have a sense of identity, somali kids these days cant even speak their own language, imagine naming them something else, huge identity crisis. I am thinking the opposite I am going to revive the hardcore Somali names like Daalmar, Sharmarke, Awesame, Guuled, Libaan, Cambaro-Luul- Ruun, Ardo, Waris, Ugaaso. A lot of my friends with children have abandoned the traditional Somali names and are instead choosing Arab names ...ain't nobody got time fo' dat! Or naming their children after Disney characters.
